Welcome to T.E.N., the teenage version of T.A.N.
My name is Danielle Hampson, I am the founder of T.E.N. & T.A.N.

T.E.N.'s mission is to help teenagers between the ages of 15 and 19 with with their preparation for the
business world after they graduate from High School and College.
T.E.N is an integral part of The Art of Networking
(T.A.N.), and follows the same principal of T.A.N., however adapted to fit the teen community.
As we move forward developing our T.E.N. program, we need your input:
- If you are a teen and are interested in participating in the Teen Entrepreneur Network, we invite you to contact us
to express your interest;
- If you are the parent of a teen and would like your daughter or son to be involved in T.E.N, we invite you to also
contact us;
- We also invite all members of the academic world to let their students know of T.E.N. and invite them to visit this
website as well as our T.A.N website.
WHAT IS NETWORKING?
People will often have their own interpretation of networking, and hence will network the way they believe it should
be done; they also often think networking is about selling. If it is indeed true that in most cases the ultimate
goal of networking is to promote ones product or service and to sell it, networking done the right way has absolutely nothing to do with selling.
Instead, it has everything to do with creating and developing relationships; it is about sharing with others
about yourself, and discovering things about others.
Why? Because in business people will "buy" you before they buy your products or services. Before deciding whether
to do business with you or not, good business people will first want to know who you are, what you value, if you
are genuine, trustworthy, reliable etc. In other words, trust must be established.

WHO NETWORKS?
YOU network! And generally speaking you have been doing it since kindergarden.
Think back on each time you made a new friend. What did you do before you decided she or he would become your new
best friend? You first met somewhere; you asked each other's name; if you did not meet in school you probably
inquired on why s/he was there; eventually you started to talk about you both liked and discovered
you had many things in common, or not.
The point is: you shared and you discovered, then you decided if you were going to be best
friends or not. You see, when you analyze networking just a little, it becomes evident that it has lots in
common with the many things you were doing when you were a child, are still doing now in your teenage years,
and will most likely continue to do as an adult, in business. Networking is nothing to be afraid of, it is
a natural thing to do, and when done right the rewards are endless.
When you attend T.E.N. events, you will learn hands-on the ins and outs of "Networking Done the Right Way!" that
will facilite your transition to the business world, you will meet new peers, cool entrepreneurs, and you will
have a whole lot of fun in the process.
